most likely 44

i just bought some Klein Tools wire strippers. the numbers next to the holes are 20, 18, 16, 14, 12 and 10. These are just basic $10 wire strippers. Will these work or do i need something with 44 on it?

Ah . . . you're refering to the "hook-up" wire. Thats probably closer to 24.
The "20" hole might work, but it'll be a bit large.

If you have to, firmly grip the wire with both hands, take thumb nails and bring them together around the point where you want the plastic covering to stop, and pull your thumbs apart. You can strip wire that light a gauge by fingernail, I've had to do it before. Most places don't sell strippers that strip wire that light a gauge.

20 is the smallest hole on the strippers. are the pickup wires really that small?
