Over wound mellowness? it is exactly the way I won't describe an over-wound pup...

With a single coil it can be an accurate description. Cranking up the mids with more will dull the icepick a little bit, and then if you use Alnico 2 instead of 5 and back the pickup away from the strings a little more than usual, you really can get "overwound mellowness".

In all the guitars I've ever had with a 5 position switch, I've always favoured the 2 and 4 positions. guess I've been into quacking all along and didn't realise it. always found 1 3 5 too harsh.

Positions 2 & 4 are my favorite on my strat and in my mind are much the classic strat sound.

vintage Pick ups will give you a nice Quack..
2nd and 4th position on the Strat
for Quacking sounds

There's a television commercial for a "Aflac" which is an insurance company. They use a duck, and make it say "aflac" in a quacky voice. It's a goof.

One of the mentally challenged kids imitates that duck.... I nearly wet my pants.... FOR REAL!!!!! It was more the context than the imitation... everything was serious, and he breaks out with the AAAAFFFFFFLLLLLLAAAAAACCCCCC!!!!!!

This one time I tried to squeeze a duck into my amp but he just kept screaming "AFLAC" so I just ignored 'im.

But then I switched to my neck pickup only, STK-S4 stack, and he quacked along with me....

Dimebag Darrell is O. K., but have you ever heard him play clean? I am from Arlington, Tx. and i have. Let me say this, clean with no effects means you can't hide behind tons of "foot goodies!" I'll let you draw your own conclusions from there.
