What goes with a Custom Custom

Howdy, I have a 24 fret basswood set neck with a Custom Custom in the bridge, I'm looking for something to match the output with a classic rock-blues tone for the neck. What do you think?

I use a Seth Lover neck with my Custom Custom. I think the Pearly Gates N would make for a great combo with the CC too. Lew

How about a Jazz neck?

Might have a little more bass and treble than you need...might not!

I tend to like alnico 2 neck pickups...especially with an alnico 2 bridge humbucker like the CC.

I'm gonna be swapping out a JB for a Custom Custom soon, giving me a Jazz/CC combo..............I'll let ya' know!!! :13:

I am with Lew as well, but I would not discount the use of the bridge versions of those in the neck. Due to 24 frets your neck position would be a little brighter, a little more like a middle position. Then hotter A2 PAF clones help! ;)

Indeed I am a big believer of the use of cool PGb's in the neck.

Pearly Gates! I can't tell you how many times I've made and seen this recommendation in the past week or so....sounds good in neck, mixes well with bridge - plus cool combo with both pups on.

I used a jazz in the neck position with a CC in the bridge and liked it alot but, I had a 22 fret guitar not a 24 fret. I say go for it if you are looking for the a really bright neck sound. The Alnico pro II, Pearly gates, seth, will probally be a better choice for you if you are looking for a classic rock-blues tone for the neck. My favorite is the Alnico pro II.
