What guitar do you love the looks of but hate the tone?

The coolest guitar I have ever seen is the Firebird, although I have never played one .

What guitars would you guys love to have just because of how it looks but you just cant stand the tone or how it plays/feels?

Les Pauls. Yea, I said it. I can't stand how they play, so awkward and bulky.

Yup, me too. I so want to like them, but just can't get to grips.

I have to agree about the les paul's, at least the ones with 50's necks, there so uncomfortable to play

Paul Reed Smith. Gorgeous. Built as good as it gets. Play very nice. Hate the tone for the most part. I've had 4 though..don't want any more at this point in time.

SG's ,I had a Standard years ago and loved to hold and play it but it was way to bright and thin.I only wish I knew what I do about pickups then,I so want another one. :)

I don't think there are any guitars that I know of that apply to this thread. For me, it's usually the other way around (love the tone, looks ridiculous).

Black Les Pauls. They can be so sexy, yet anything LP-related just doesn't fit me at all.

Gibson Flying V's. Great tone but the instruments i have played are neck divers and hurt my back.

Gibson SG - sound is way too thin for my tastes... but looks hella sexy.. SG standard natural finish? :firedevil

Schecter Guitars - I love the look. Love the playability. Hate the tone.

+1. I base all my comparisons on the neck shape of my Flying V, because I love my V that much. I despise the fact that it's so unbalanced.

Fender Strats for me. I absolutely love the way a classic Strat looks like, but with a black pickguard and a single bridge hum/single volume knob. Only thing is, I can't stand any Strat neck shape.

Teles. I love the sound and the look, but that lack of forearm contour is uncomfortable to me. But I got all that taken care of when I started doing business with Warmoth and now I can have a tele with the contoured arm.

Possibly my ultimate favorite guitar shape is ESP/LTD’s viper, which has an offset SG body and to me it’s the coolest looking design ever, but extremely uncomfortable to play sitting down, as the way the body is offset, it digs into your leg, unlike with a Standard SG. I had the baritone version of that guitar (VB-300) and sold it for other reasons, but if it weren’t for those reasons I would have eventually sold it because of the lack of comfort.

i think my viper is really comfortable sitting down, but on a strap the balance is just crap; pretty neck heavy

Wow, ya know, I found the exact opposite to be true. I've never strapped on a V and had it neck dive on me...they've always balanced perfectly, with the neck at an upward angle.

strange...

Jackson RR's and King V's.
