What guitar?

So I'm looking for an inexpensive guitar that I can get that will hold me over until I can buy a better one. I am looking for a bolt neck, double locking trem, and 2 humbuckers. I am basically considering a laguna Le400, and an ESP ltd m100. I will swap pickups out, tune to E flat, and use it just until I get something better. Any thoughts?

Re: What guitar?

Definitely look at the RG3xx range. From last year they have been upgraded with better bridges that should last quite some time. The 350 is a great one, and if you didn't want the single in the just wire it out.

I don't know what "inexpensive" is to you, but if it is in the $300 to $400 range, maybe a used G&L Tribute Legacy HB? Three humbuckers: two mini rail style ones and one full-sized one at the bridge (which can be split). It's easy enough to ignore the middle pickup, or rewire the guitar with a Tele switch so that the middle switch position gives you the neck and bridge together. They come with a Floyd Special and a locking nut (smoked chrome finish). They have come in gloss black, flat black, and flat olive green AFAIK. The gloss black is the hardest to find. They came with a nice G&L gig back up until very recently, so that will probably be included as well. Probably under $400 used, and is a better bang for the buck than most inexpensive imported guitars. Oh, I also think that they have a swimming pool rout, which lets you do whatever you want pickups-wise without routing. I don't know for sure if they have the swimming pool, but I know the standard Tribute Legacys do. Obviously I think they're pretty badass guitars.
