The necks will be weird for anyone who doesn't use strictly classical positioning.

I don't use strict classical positioning when playing . . . maybe 80% thumb right in the middle of the back of the neck and 20% hooking a thumb over the top. I was wondering if it the strandberg neck would force me to have better technique or be really annoying.
Certainly try one. I found it annoying, but lots of people love it.

This Performance Strat has a ‘79 Fender Ash body, a 26” scale, 20” radius, and a body shaped like a banana!
I have a second Performance, but this is a standard Alder body 22-fret, still 26” scale, and 20” radius.
Both tuned to D with 10’s.
Been playing them since 1987.
Nothing I really feel drawn to trying out there to be honest, but if a 1959 Les Paul Junior DC - either Cherry or a TV-yellow model, landed in my lap, then I’d probably cancel all appointments for the rest of the day.

I’ve never had a chance to try a Jackson Soloist either, but it’s definitely high on the list — seems like it could cover a lot of ground if the neck feels right. I’d also be curious about a James Tyler or Tom Anderson, just to see what all the hype is about in terms of build and feel.
Feels like sometimes you don’t really know until you get it in your hands.
I’ve seen similar “on the radar” gear discussions around Vibeworks Guitars Coupons too — interesting mix of custom builds and different styles people are exploring.

I've never gotten my hands on a Suhr, but I would expect it would be very similar to the Jackson/Charvels I have and similar to the Andersons I have tried out.

never tried the renaissance, but got to play a model 1 a few times. the local turner rep would bring me guitars to play at gigs. cool guitar and lots of tones available once you figure everything out, which does take a minute. mv/mt, the the magnetic/piezo blend, then the parametric mid boost/cut
i have three hamer usa guitars and wouldnt hesitate to get another. none of mine are all that old though, the chaparral is the oldest from '87

I loved the looks of their LP DC-type models, and always heard good things about them -- like one of these:
Shared a bill with a band whose guitarist had a beautiful one in emerald green and he had it sounding great. It made a deep impression on me, but didn't get the chance to play it.

I've heard so much good about them, but every time one hs popped up near me, I haven't had the ducats for it. Hmph.
