Monte Allums has a fairly simple mod kit to convert the YJM308 into the 250. You need basic soldering skills, but it's not too difficult. I have one. I don't know how authentic it is because I never heard the original.
You run it into a slightly dirty Marshall and it gives you a distortion that’s clear and articulate with a lot of sustain but doesn’t fuzz out.
