I've got an older (non-solderless) EMG P pickup, that I want to use each half in two Epiphone Mandobirds. The red power wire only goes to one of the pickups though...I'm guessing the preamp is only in that one and not the other?
1) will the pickup still work if I cut the wire to the other half?
2) will an outboard EMG PA2 preamp be able to power the other half, which will then be unpowered?
3) is each pickup in the P bass set humbucking, or do the two need to be connected as they are, to be humbucking?
I'm a hardcore Duncan passive p/u user, but my wife loves the look (why do women always put looks first?
