What happens when a guitar speaker gets dropped on it's side HARD in shipping!

My new WGS ET-90 that was killed in shipping. Dropped it in my amp but it was really weak and had a really harsh buzz-saw rasp in the high end. Pulled the speaker out today and instantly found the problem.

Seen this before and it's what happens when a speaker gets dropped really hard on the side in transport and the voice coil is knocked out of alignment! Thought you guys might want to see ( and hear) this one!
It's boxed up and headed back to WGS!

Shipping is evil... When you shipped that 2x12 to me, the shipper left it outside my front door in the rain. Was dark when I got home from my night job so I didnt see it till morn and it sat out in the rain all night. Thankfully, it still worked fine

Dayyumm, that's bad news.

I recently purchased a pair of 10" Celestion Alnico Gold speakers from the USA ... the tracking number tells me they arrived in Australia on December 30th, so i should recieve them any day now. This incident has me hoping very much that mine will arrive without having been traumatised in transit somewhere along their trip around the globe.

I've had speakers that functioned perfectly do that.

Trust me this one didn't (function perfectly)!
Really harsh buzz in the top end that was NASTY and when you moved the cone manually it would catch and snap.

Got the replacement from WGS today and this speaker ROCKS (WGS ET-90).
Makes a BIG difference when the voice coil is not bound up LOL!!
