I have a Fender Deluxe HSS Strat with an Alder body and a maple neck/maple fretboard.
I will not be using the middle pickup at all.
I will also be having it wired so that the tone controls are disconnected and wide open.
I play through a Kemper Profiler, using Adam monitors, with mostly Marshall profiles.
I don't like Yngwies bridge or middle pickups, I never play middles on any guitar anyway.
But I want to put a HS3 in the neck like he used to use before he switched to YJM Duncan's, even though many say the tone is the same in both models, I feel more comfortable with the old HS3 in the neck because that's what he recorded the first several CDs with.
I need help in know which bridge pickup would be best to pair with the HS3 neck in my guitar?
I use a lot of distortion in my Marshall Profiles on the Kemper as it is, so maybe a bridge that is already hot would be a bad idea? From my understanding the HS3 are low output, so maybe my bridge humbuckers will also need to be low output?
I want a bridge humbuckers that can get me in the ballpark of guitar tones heard on 1987-1993 CDs from bands like Ratt, Metallica, Megadeth, Poison, Randy Rhoads, Steve Vai, Van Halen, Def Leppard, George Lynch, Etc. You know, hard rock/heavy metal but can also be capable of neoclassical solos like Yngwie and be a good match and balance to play well with a HS3 in the neck.
At first, from what I've read, I thought a Screamin Demon humbucker in the bridge?
Or would a Full Shred be better? Or a custom distortion? Or what?
Also, since the HS3 is DiMarzio, and my bridge will probably be a Duncan do I gotta get it wired some special way to make the two pickups be in phase?
