What is a great neck pickup to use with a Dimarzio Super Distortion bridge P/U?
I have a nickel covered Dimarzio SuperDistortion bridge pickup in one of my Les Pauls. It, as many would agree, sounds super awesome.
The neck humbucker in this very nice Epiphone amber colored LP Plus Top is the stock Epi alnico classic and it is unremarkable. It does not compliment or combine with the SuperDistortion to result in an incredible sound. It does not sound incredible by itself.
I suppose we have many a player here that is very acquainted and experienced with the Dimarzio SuperDistortion bridge pickup. If you don't mind sharing, what have you found to be a great neck pickup to accompany this awesome SuperDistortion bridge pickup?
I suppose some of you "exclusively" have used the bridge SuperDistortion, but I'm sure many have also made use of a great neck pickup along with the SuperD to great affect and for a diversity of sound.
Your experience is appreciated more than you may know, and your feedback is priceless. I'm looking forward to hearing from some of you. Thanks in advance for flashing back on your SuperDistortion days.
