What is a zebra PU?! What is diference between JB and JB Zebra?

I would like to know what is the difference between normal PU and a Zebra PU?!

I know both Seymours (59 + JB) but i dont know if Zebras sound different.

Can u tell me something about those PU?

If you order a zebra JB from Seymour Duncan it will be CREAM and black. You can get white and black, but it's not zebra.

i always wondered about the term 'reverse zebra' ... i mean, doesnt that kinda imply that we know if zebras are white with black stripes or black with white stripes? ... how do we know? ... and how come 'zebra' and not 'penguin'

The "standard" JB is made in Japan, and the "ZEBRA" JB is made in Kenya, AFRICA :13:

Rumour has it, that the Kenya plant wants to bring out the "Cheeta", and "Wild Turkey" models early next year.

Let's make it more confusing. Duncan's zebra is DiMarzio's reverse zebra and Duncan's reverse zebra is DiMarzio's zebra.

Actually, the Wild Turkey Model is supposed to come out of the Tennesee plant so as to be closer to the Target Market, aka. Jolly :laugh2:

The cream-black is zebra so the white-black can be the penguin one...and the pink could be the flamingo model.

I think zebra JB's sound slightly warmer than double black JB's because trace amounts of metallic material in the dye used in the black bobbins slightly distorts the magnetic field causing harsher overtones.
