what is the consensus on the low end gretschs?

Are these guitars decent? Has any one played one? Thoughts? I was looking at the electromatic pro jet. It's beautiful, but we all know that doesn't mean much if it's a POS otherwise. I would like some opinions. thanks.

I hate to say it, but I've played some higher end Gretsch guitars that were garbage, so I cringe at thinking about the quality of the lower level ones.

I've played $20,000 Gretsch's that are better than anything ever made. I've also played $500 Gretsch's better than almost anything.

Buy it! It's a FANTASTIC company.

And the $20,000 one belongs to Kim Necroman of Necromantix/Horrorpops fame.

I've always wanted some sort Gretsch after seeing Soundgarden using them in so many of their videos.

My dad came by last night for our wednesday jam session and instead of his acoustic he brought his Gretsch. He has a big orange 1620 (I believe thats the model number, he wasn't sure).

Killer sounding and playing guitar. I believe all Gretschs are Korean built but he said that he tought his was MIJ. At any rate I haven't ever played a Gretsch that wasn't a well made guitar but like anything else you have to play a few to find one that works for you.

Must be a 6120 :)
That is about THE most legendary Gretsch model.

I can't speak for the electromatics, but I do know that my White Falcon is absolutely amazing and flawless!!
