Hi all, i'm looking to purchase a new guitar and I'm looking into the taylors. Could anyone tell me the difference between the 100 series and 200 series?

200 - 100 = 100

The answer is 100!

What is it you are trying to find out that you can't figure out from their comparison tool right on the Taylor web site?

https://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/compare

For example, when I compare the 114ce with a 214ce, the only difference is the body wood is walnut on the 114 and layered koa on the 214, and it's an extra $270 for that layered koa.

The 214ce comes with a sturdier, more protective gig bag Taylor calls a "hard bag".

There are a few cosmetic touches that are different.

Cosmetics, case and electronics

I had one of the early 114CEs and it was a great guitar. Seems though now that there are better options for the price range (such as Eastman)

If you go to guitar center and try them out back to back, you'll know.
My opinion from doing just this is that the 100 series has a bit less sparkle than the 200s. Then I bought a 214ce.
