I'd say one of these old bich's. They can sing and they can be brutal.... Lots of bells and whistles.

Strat is the obvious answer, Les Paul probably next most logical. But imagine if you will a Tele that could do it all:

Canada's David Wilcox is a mofo of a guitarist. His Tele has the stock bridge pickup, a Dearmond bridge pickup, a humbucker and a Tele neck pickup. 4 on/off switches, master tone, master volume. His tone live is killer.
