What is the worst clean you've ever heard??

I was listening to the pickup audio demos on the duncan site and some of those are pretty awful for clean tones, sure they have some gnarly distorted tones but when you listen to the clean of some of those things you want to cover your ears.

SO, whats the worst excuse for a clean tone you have ever heard from a pickup??

My vote goes for the metal livewires clean bridge demo in the audio clips section

The Dimarzio Al Dimeola pickup is the worst clean sounding pickup I have ever heard. It's cold, hard and clean all of the time. You can throw obscene amounts of distortion at it and it will and always sound clean.

The reasons why some of the Clean sounds in the SD audio demonstration sound clips are not really clean at all are explained in the introductory notes that go with the CDs. These should also appear with the website .mp3 files. Of course, if you navigate directly to the sound clips without reading the notes, confusion may follow.

Any Dimarzio? Come on, try a Blue Velvet neck and tell me it's bad.

I think it's hard to beat a JB for bad clean sounds. Split it's amazing, but full on humbucker mode? Yuck.

Looking at his username I'm not too sure he digs single coil tones. That aside, his post has trollolololol all over it.

glad I got someones attention. Active emg 60 is quite possibly the best pickup from their entire line up. And yes the velvet by dimarzio is a step up from a gibby. That aside... My vote for worst clean is the invader. It proves this. In spades.
