What is this about? Duncan 805 new, old-stock pedal, Rev 000, original version.

2) Don't get so lost in your hard numbers that you think you have reached the pinnacle. Customer opinion is just that and it also matters (or should in some way) to the manufacturer. Its a good pedal, I just wish it sold more. :)

4) Clearly customer feedback and simple dialogue isn't something of interest.

For consideration, a lot of people who have opinions on the internet aren't actually customers - they never bought the device and aren't likely to, so they aren't really the target market. They are balking at the device on their own principles, be it price point, or color scheme, or knob type, or something else less irrelevant. Most people who actually own the device have positive things to say about its sound and capabilities.

In some cases you may be right. From my dialogue with friends and people I know and communicate with on a steady basis, I make my points. I have seen similar points (to what I have made) from others. Regardless, the points are the points. The opinions are the opinions, it is what it is. Additionally, the pedal capabilities are not what is in question. It is cosmetics and knob size, etc. making the pedal less user friendly compared to other pedals in certain situations. Others have balked at the price point but I will leave that out of the equation because there is always a deal to be had or a used pedal out there somewhere.

As far as a target market, anybody that plays guitars, buys pedals and has cash or credit should be the target market.

Hmm... and here I thought the target market was wig-wearing clowns with funny horns...

There are those Jack off all trades and master of none. I am not sure why a business would ever NOT want a customer. Maybe it is cancel culture business or something? Who knows...?

Because:

1. Some people are not the target customer (Primary, secondary, tertiary Market Segments)
2. Because you can't be all things to all people. You can try, but it is more expensive than it is worth (its a little thing called ROI)
3. The cost of acquisition of a customer (CTA - Cost To Acquire) can be more than you make
- Quick Example; Acoustic guitar players play guitar, have CC's etc. NOT the target of the 805.

If you have not met a Customer that a business doesn't want - then you have not been in enough businesses. Walmart, for example routinely "fires" Customers. Airlines do it to.

While I fully understand your points, and more that you didn't make, they really don't apply. We are talking about guitar gear to musicians. We are not talking about industries that have nothing to do with other industries. I see no need for a chef or baker to be in the same arena as a CNC machine..for example. :)

No need to make it out to be bigger than it is or fancier than it needs to be.
