What kind of 5-way is this? (pic w/ trace)

I found this switch in my part box. IDK where I got it. The only marking is a triangle (delta) on the back.

I remember buying it, wiring it once and everything came out wrong, then realized its some kind of proprietary switch. It may have come from Stewmac. I ordered some supplies from them about ten years ago. Or it could have come from ebay. I ordered alot of things from ebay.

Would like to know what it is/what it does so I can use it. I bet those five positions are pretty useful.

I traced it out. Would like to ID it or learn how to wire it.

It looks like a pretty standard import switch. From the top it is wired bridge, middle, neck, common-common, bridge, middle, neck.

Not exactly. It's just the way he drew it. He measured from "terminal 2" to each other lug, for "position 2." In other words, in position #2, it would look like this:


In position #2, lugs 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, & 8 are all shorted together. Make sense?

It's too late for me to draw all the other positions.

When there is a line between two positions, that means there is continuity.

For each position of the switch, I probed every combination of two poles to see which were connected.

Tomorrow I will test a standard 5 way and standard inline to see if I get same results.

If it's the same, I know it's a standard 5 way .

If different, it may be the import cortek Ibanez switch.

I'm hoping is the special proprietary one.

Is it possible to tell if it work with that diagram? There could be other non standard switches. I don't know what I have.

No. This one has a triangle. There is printing on the pcb that is obscured by the switch.

There are multiple versions. I might have this one (unless both can be made from the same switch):

Incidentally... if both diagrams I posted can be made from the switch I have, then its a very useful/inexpensive switch for 2 or 3 pickup guitars.

Its either an Ibanez H-S-H or something else. Its not standard 5way.

This is a standard 5-way, except common is the middle two terminals, instead of 1 and 5.

Bummer.
