What sorcery is this?

I went into my local Guitar Center in NYC and saw these two pedals in the used section:

What sorcery is this?

I went into my local Guitar Center in NYC and saw these two pedals in the used section:

The strat looking one is a strategy (can't tell if it is v1 or v2). I have one of the v2 models and it is my secret weapon. These pedals are preamps but the strategy v2 has an overdrive mode on it plus th3 preamp mode from V1. In preamp mode it's hard to explain exactly what this pedal exactly but it definitely sweetens your tone and pit pushes my amp more. It has a HP/LP Network that slightly rolls off highs and emphasizes lows at 1 and slightly rolls off lows and emphasizes highs on 10 so the tone control works like that to find your sweet spirit lows and highs. And the volume knob can push your amp with up to 30db. And inside the bottom is a trim pot for "gain" which when on overdrive mode works with the volume control to control the amount of saturation in overdrive mode. It really does push my amp more that's noticable and it just sweetens my tone. It's a very non coloring pedal. But for a pedal that doesn't add too much to your tone it is the base of whatever tone I'm building and if I only could use one pedal for the rest of my life it would be this one. It's my secret sauce. Again it's a very subtle effect but it's awesome. I really can't explain it differently.
