Dunlop Tortex .88 (green)
Dunlop Gator-Grip 1.14 (blue)
I wanted some thicker tortex ones (I love the .88 size) and they only had gator-grip in stock, and they're pretty neat feeling and solid picks.
As for which one I like more...quicker with the 1.14 but better pinch harmonics with the .88...haha

I added Ultex .73, Ultex Tri .88, Jazz III red and black to my repertoire...lol
The Ultex is like the tortex but better, doesn't slide and just rules, takes forever to make a dent, the tri is giant and easier to play fast stuff with it, the Jazz IIIs are dead and good for recording because they have no pick noise.

Dunlop Ultex 1.0 mm for electrics: they play smooth as hell and have a very defined release to them. I love the Ultex pics since i first tryed them.

The black dunlop Jazz III's. Haven't found another pick that offers the same amount of control as the jazz III. Took me a little while to get used to it, but now regular picks just seem waayyy too big. The jazz III just feels natural.

Paul Gilbert Ibanez signature picks are my favorite. They're made out of celluloid so they wear out fast but the picks smaller size and sharp tip makes them feel real good when playing fast.
Gibson heavy and Fender clears are great as well.
I don't understand why a lot of players use thin picks, they make this flapping sound and are no good for palm mutes.
To each their own of course but I just dont get it, heavy picks can make any sound by using different dynamics when playing.

Fender Heavies because they don't flop or bend under heavy playing and soloing.

I use the Dunlop Tortex SHARKFIN .60- I've been using them for about 20 years- I too have to order them, because no one stocks them, so about every 5 years I order a gross of them.
I prefer them because they have 3 different picking edges, and don't get lost in my huge hands!

Tortex Purple and Greenie's - tip sharpened by a nail file. I need to pick up some of the actual Tortex Sharp's to try out, though.

I only use Tortex 1.5mm, the pink ones I think. I just find the heavier, thicker, non-floppy pick works a lot better then the smaller ones. And they seem to give me a thicker tone as well, that I like, that or it's just my ears playing more tricks on me

It changes all the time. Currently, back to Dunlop 1.14mm Tortex. But the Jazz II and III are perrennial faves, as are 1.5mm Pickboy with the holes (which I cannot find anymore)

I'm in the middle of a huge pick confusion... For years, I used nothing but green Tortex (.88). About a year ago, I went to the heavy purple (1.14) or blue (1.0) ones. Now, I've gone totally the opposite direction, and am trying out the yellow (.73) and orange (.60).

Yeah I agree with you on the thicker tone on heavier picks, makes palm mutes more defined. One thing I like about thin ones is they let you play fast chords because they just slide right across the strings and they work pretty good for slow stuff.
