What kind of Strat is this?

Re: What kind of Strat is this?

Freaking deadbeat seller man!
He replied saying "ya still avail." a week and a half ago so I said I'd like to buy it then . Cash in hand, quick sale, no bartering let me know.
Then nothing from him since. Arrrggghhh!
His ad has like 680 views so he's probably jerking everyone off with this thing.

Re: What kind of Strat is this?

Thanks, maybe I'll email him again. I just don't want to come across as annoying or aggressive.
But if the thing is sold then delete the ad or reply saying so right? I mean its just customary to do do so.

Re: What kind of Strat is this?

American Specials , like the old HWY1's have the 6 point tremolo, and are budget-oriented guitars not nearly on the quality level of a US Standard ( enter the HWY1 guys to get PO'd at me).

No, I think that's fair to an extent. I have a 60th Anniversary, pre-CBS Highway 1, and I had to swap out the pickups (true vintage middle, non-RWRP, made the best positions on the 5-way unplayable) and the bridge saddles (MIM-style stamped; replaced em with AllParts die-cast and am much happier). The "satin nitro" finish is also going glossy, but that's just mojo.

These "budget MIAs", no matter what Fender calls em (Highway One, American Special), are an attempt to make an affordable MIA that hearkens back to the ones they were making in the 60s and 70s. Back in the day, ol' Leo was just as concerned with materials cost as any manufacturer. Look at the real 60s-era Strats, and you'll find they're no-frills instruments without many of the appointments of today's U.S. Stds.
