Re: What model is similar to slash a2pro?
Nice Explorer- I dig the pearl pickguard on black. Pretty LP you have there too.
I've got BK Rebel Yells in one Explorer and a RioGrande TX/BBQ set in another. I'm very happy with these but both are hotter & more aggressive than the Slash, which I have in a Mockingbird.
IME the natural tone of Explorers tends to be somewhat different from Les Pauls- generally warmer up top, less scooped in the mids, and bigger in the low end. So if you want similar feel and low-mid push with a slightly different tone profile, another Slash set might be the ticket. Perhaps mag-swapped like Darkside suggested, but I'd try them stock first. A set of the same pickups can sound surprisingly different in another axe, especially another design.
I own some humbuckers from ReWind that have a similarly smooth feel to the Slash pickups, called the Creme Brulee set. They're fantastic: sweet yet chimey, with excellent note definition - no smear in chords - and wonderful fingertouch thanks to a slightly compressed character. These don't have quite as much low-mid push as the Slash pickups but they're far more open sounding and still have plenty of creamy thickness in the mids. Also pretty expensive. Still, I felt they were worth mentioning. These pickups would totally rock in an Explorer.
