What model is similar to slash a2pro?

I’m wondering what other set of Duncan’s gives the same low mid oomph or a similar tone. What’s the closest? I have the slash set in my les Paul and am looking for something only slightly different for my explorer.

The Slash is a slightly hotter A2P, and the A2P is a Jazz with A2 mag, maybe try mag swapping with either the Slash or A2P/Jazz winds?

Nice Explorer- I dig the pearl pickguard on black. Pretty LP you have there too.

I've got BK Rebel Yells in one Explorer and a RioGrande TX/BBQ set in another. I'm very happy with these but both are hotter & more aggressive than the Slash, which I have in a Mockingbird.

IME the natural tone of Explorers tends to be somewhat different from Les Pauls- generally warmer up top, less scooped in the mids, and bigger in the low end. So if you want similar feel and low-mid push with a slightly different tone profile, another Slash set might be the ticket. Perhaps mag-swapped like Darkside suggested, but I'd try them stock first. A set of the same pickups can sound surprisingly different in another axe, especially another design.

I own some humbuckers from ReWind that have a similarly smooth feel to the Slash pickups, called the Creme Brulee set. They're fantastic: sweet yet chimey, with excellent note definition - no smear in chords - and wonderful fingertouch thanks to a slightly compressed character. These don't have quite as much low-mid push as the Slash pickups but they're far more open sounding and still have plenty of creamy thickness in the mids. Also pretty expensive. Still, I felt they were worth mentioning. These pickups would totally rock in an Explorer.

I would just try a regular Alnico II Pro. That and the Slash pickups are similar, but they sort of stand alone in the Duncan lineup- no other stock pickups have the same EQ profile and power level.

I agree with Mincer. Just use a regular set of Alnico2 Pros in your explorer to sound similar but slightly different to your LP with the Slash set.

I've been looking for the the same thing you are and haven't found it yet either. The slash set helped narrow what I perceive to be a hole in th e Duncan lineup. Without swapping magnets there isn't much in that tonal range between the slash set and a custom custom.

IME A4s in a set of 59s is like a slightly improved A2P profile of sound in a Gibson guitar. Similar mids but more hi-low range and a little more omph. In the same ballpark but different.
