what neck pup

im gonna get either a 59n or jazzn and put a alnico II magnet in it. its going in a sg type guitar, have tried a jazz with an alnico II mag.

what ya think?

I think I'd love to know how either would then compare to an alnico 2 Seth Lover! If you do the mod, is there any way you could compare the three? Seems to me that the Jazz N would end up being brighter than the 59N, because it already is brighter...even with the a5 magnet. Lew

If you can swing it, what Lew suggested would be great.
If you can only do one, I'd love to know how the 59 with AII sounds.

I would think the A2 '59 may be a better option, as Lew said the Jazz is already fairly bright, and SG's are quite thin.

That's my thoughts anyway.

kinda what i was thinking too, the 59 has more bottom so i think ill go with that.
ill probably pick up a 59n today and swap the mag tomorrow. i dont have a guitar with seths in it at the moment but im sure i can track one down, ah yes daves hamer will do nicely

ive used the aph before and i like it but i want something different.
i have a pair of pups that died for some unknown reason (i think my friend todd doesnt know how to solder pups) so while they go back for a rewind i need something to use.
its going to be matched up with a phat cat in the bridge

I looooved the Alnico II loeaded 59 I had at the neck of my LP. The lows and highs seemed to pull back some, but the mids were big and thick. It's definately one of my favorite neck humbucker tones. :burnout:
