what nut glue do i need

Re: what nut glue do i need

i just used wood glue when mine came loose. its held perfectly well since then.

Re: what nut glue do i need

I use superglue myself when I do new nuts. No probs.

Though I should warn you, gluing your own nuts is not advised...

Re: what nut glue do i need

i use one drop of super glue. its enough to hold but not so much to mess up your slot if you need to remove the nut at some point in the future

Re: what nut glue do i need

If you use super glue, be careful. I believe that the previous owner of my lp super glued a new nut in and spilled thus ruining the headstock finish. I'm not complaining though, I got it cheap and it sounds great.

Re: what nut glue do i need

I belive that Theodie uses chowder as nut glue. You may be able to get a shipment from him for free if you ask nicely!

Re: what nut glue do i need

A drop or two of superglue used here - seems to work nicely. Surprising how many new guitars have a loose nut when you take the strings off for the first time. Easy fix though.

Re: what nut glue do i need

I use 1/2 Elmer's and 1/2 water. Just enough to hold it. Easy to pop it out and clean up too. I figure that 99% of the time the nut is held down tight with string pressure. It's not really going to go anywhere. Just enough adhesive to keep it there.

Re: what nut glue do i need

I use Titebond hide glue for guitar work, including gluing nuts. Call me old-fashioned.
