What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

Keeley modded DS-1 ultra
(just a collectors item) univox super fuzz
and just the natural tube distortion from the amp baby :22:

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

amp gain :headbang:

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

my amp aint got any gain, so its an SD-1 and a DS-2 (Turbo Distortion) generally in turbo mode (mid boost) with gain and level on full, tone around 11o clock.

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

Barber Direct Drive
Barber LTD
Bad Bob Booster
HAO Sole Pressure (Cool pedal)

G2D Custom Overdrive
G2D Morpheus (for high gain)

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

I use a DOD Overdrive/Preamp 250 in front of my compressor, and then after the compressor is a TS-9 (modded to TS-808), followed by an old Proco RAT (the smaller squarish version that's built like a brick).

Another pedal that I don't own, but I recommend it, is the Barber Electronics Direct Drive. This is a very nice overdrive/distortion pedal.

Maxon OD808. Thru my delta it can get really heavy.

Dave Barber's pedals are the best IMHO! :) I use a Direct Drive Super Sport to overdrive my Marshall and a Barber Tone Press compressor for leads. The best build and sound quality anyone could ask for at an incredible price.

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

Klon Centaur (Gold)

The pedals I'm interested in are the G2D, T. Rexx Mudhoney, and new 808 Reissue.

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

I mostly use a Barber Direct Drive.

Occasionally, I use an old Boss pedal for a little more gain. I think it's called the Heavy Metal (can't ever remember the name), and they don't make it anymore. It doesn't really sound like a fuzzy distortion, though. It's more of a heavy overdrive.

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

i use a boss sd-1, visual sound rt66, mesa vtwin, vox valvetone, ie electronics future dynamic overdrive, voodoo super fuzz, and there is probabyl a few others laying around here but i dont use em much. the best overdrive tone i get straight from the amp

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

for light distortion i use the amps overdrive(peavey classic 50 212) and thats on about 6 or 9.5 (out of 12). for heavy distortion i use a boss hm-3 hyper metal. and the distortion on that is about 1/3 the way up. and for a solo boost i use a mij boss sd-1.

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

I have a Boss OD-1, Ibanez TS-10, Ibanez TS-7, and a Pro Co. Turbo Rat. I use the OD-1 80% of the time followed by the TS-10. I use the Turbo Rat for recording when I want "that" sound and the TS-7 is just kicking around. I am thinking about getting a Barber Direct Drive.

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

TS9 modded for boost....

And of course a great hulking Marshall JCM800 or JMP cranked to death!!!!

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

A pretty compressed and thin sounding Boss MT-2 through my Peavey Rage 158 15 watt solid state peice of crap to make it sound less crap than it would otherwise sound :P

I can't wait till I get hold of a new amp, Cool Rails and Duncan Distortion in a few weeks! :P

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

I use a Blackstone MOSFET Overdrive and/or a Visual Sound Route 66. Sometimes I just use a Dano Fish & Chips EQ set flat but with the level boosted.

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

Let's see here....RAT "Vintage" model, modded TS-9, TS-5/DS-1/SD-1 pedals all 3 modded by John, Guyatone Harmonic Distortion (great fuzz) and a MXR Distortion +. I throw in my Dunlop Dallas Arbiter FuzzFace once in awhile that I modded myself with a different set of germanium transistors, but it runs on a 9v battery only.....all my other pedals have ac adapters. With the FF, I doubt whether it would sound better with electricity running through it instead of DC because of the type of current that powers those transistors. The MXR and RAT pedals have their special times when I use them, but the Tubescreamers are my favorite stomp-boxes for distortion/boost.
Like others above who posted to this thread, I also love the sound of my guitar played clean through my Fender DRRI amp cranked up for it's natural overdrive. But my ears can't handle it for long, and neither could my neighbors....lol. That amp is only 22w strong but it's a potent 22w driving that one 12" speaker.

Re: What OD / Distortion pedal are you using?

I use amp distortion. But at home into my clean practice amp I use a Korg 104ds "Hyper Distortion". Great for huge sounds at low volumes.
