What OD pedal or other pedals would you recommend for Slide guitar?

do you have any brands of hand blown glass to check out?

I bought both of mine from a local glass blower. It's been so long I can't remember his name.

Not OD but worth mentioning:

Yeah that thing is sweet looking but it's out of my price range, even used, also I havent been able to locate one locally to try. Plus I could get like 3-5 pedals for that price.

I hear you. To me the key takeaway was chaining two compressors. 1176s (or any other FET) is ridiculous but you can experiment with a couple of VCA compressors.

When I play slide I find that ODs tend to mush things up. On my board I stack a TC Electronic Spark Boost into a Boss GE7 for pushing my amp. On slide I usually just use the TC.
The TC is more of a colored boost than an OD.
Easy enough to try they are pretty cheap.

It's in "new posts" now.

Me: neck pickup, glass slide, roll the volume back with some gain from the amp, use fingers on the right hand. Imperfect to be sure, but gets me in the neighborhood.

i dont love a rangemaster for slide. i play a lot of slide, and have a sweet rangemaster clone, and thats not what i want for slide. i want a touch of compression and a full sound. i usually use a glass slide and my fingers, not a pick.

We have a song on the new album that I play slide on. It is my same high-gain setup with the VOL rolled back a bit to control feedback

My good friend Paul Rose.
The Zappa is strong in Paul.
Here’s his first explorations into the Hughes and Ketner 5W Head - red box out to the computer, no compression.
2.14 - Wow.
