What one pedal do you think is the most important to you.

What one pedal do you think is the most important to you.

If I had to live with one pedal it would be the Boss ME-70[emoji6]. Which is in my opinion the best overall multi unit they’ve ever produced.

My tone corset. I never realized how necessary a compressor is until i started using one.

Wah. It’s a whole separate expressive parameter, like being able to bend a note in a fifth dimension.

A Delay pedal. Adds 'fun' to the board, can't see ever being without one.

Delay.

A Tubescreamer-type boost. I'm so used to it by now, amps just sound weird without it to me.

Re: What one pedal do you think is the most important to you.

For me, it would be a delay pedal where I can control the feedback and level with an expression pedal.

Peterson Strobo Tuner.

I’m really liking my compressor. Sustain, and control especially on the clean channel.

Strymon DECO -- can be compressor, tape saturation, boost, overdrive, delay, flange, or chorus.

EHX Worm. I made a thread about it earlier.

Has great wah, phaser and tremolo (and vibe, I don't really use) all controllable with expression pedal.

I keep it mostly always on with tremolo, it works brilliantly as a treble booster controllable by exp. pedal.

Delay because It's like a second guitarist for me that plays what I want them to play. I can always dial in the amount of volume or gain on an amp and I can always tune by ear, but I can't get that spacious delay sound with my guitar and amp alone.

Re: What one pedal do you think is the most important to you.

For me it's the channel switching pedal on my Mesa amps. They have good clean tones, good reverb, and to-die-for drive tones...better than any transistor pedal.

Having some kind of tuning reference is a must...piano, tuning fork, pitch pipe, or a tuner like a Boss TU-12 or a Snark headstock tuner, but doesn't have to be in pedal form.

When I go to a jam, I will often leave my full pedalboard at home, but I have an accessories bag with a Crybaby Classic, a Boss DD-3 delay and a Boss CE-3. I will pick ONE to use for that particular jam so it depends on my mood, what songs I want to play, and what's going on with the other players. And it actually comes out pretty evenly between the three.

Good question. Thanks!

Bill

One pedal huh?

Hmmmm... I’m gonna have to say...

...the accelerator because it’s imperative for getting to practice and gigs!
