What overdrive pedal to boost a Marshall DSL 100h?

Re: What overdrive pedal to boost a Marshall DSL 100h?

Andreas Kisser was also using until some years ago (not sure at present) this brazilian amp: Meteoro MAK 3000 head (Andreas helped make this amp. 280 watts)

I knew about that, though I dig their earlier stuff more. Schizophrenia is still my favorite as it really has an unique vibe to it. Quantum leap forward musically when compared to Morbid Visions.

When I played thrash I used a 100 watt Fender and later a SS Randall with a MXR+ or a DOD 250. Now that I have the DSL I can pull off some decent thrash tones without a boost. If I do want to push this amp to the edge I have been using a BBE Bohemian Boost or a TWA Triskelion. The BBE give some kick whereas the TWA will take it over the top. THe DSL doesn't need much to goose it to death metal levels.

honestly, I haven't tried that many to boost my marshall, the one's I have tried (rat, big muff, boss os2, zvex box of rock, zvex sho, bogner red, digitech cm2, boss ge7) the digitech cm2 was my favorite. I would like to try the 805 overdrive tho ^, I like the boost pedals with an eq section instead of just "tone", that way I can shape it a bit better

MT2 leaves ALOT to be desired. Its not at all in the same leauge as the triple wreck or tight metal.
Unless of course you get it nodded by Keeley [emoji12]

Yeah we've discussed this before... just agree to disagree. Keeley turns a paper weight into a more expensive paperweight in my opinion.

Yes, I know you think that, thus the cute emoticon. Out of curiosity, is your opinion based upon using one or from hearing someone else use one? Or is it based on having just used the original MT_2?

Ive owned the keeley modded mt and the analogman modded mt2... funny enough the only one i still own is a stock one but thats only cause a guy threw it in as a trade sweetener when his side was light 20 bucks in value and i figured i could sell it for 30 but never got around to it

OK, then I can't argue with your opinion. I suppose it's all a matter of taste.

exactly... what works for me doesnt work for a lot of people...

I dig the old TC electronics BLD... 他和 Ithink that thing is the bees knees 99% of the people here have never played one... its all just taste.

A while back I picked up a used Duncan TT Mayhem and I find that with a tube screamer in front of it, it's about perfect.

Never played or even heard a Mayhem...

Another of my obscure faves is the old Ibanez SM9... I kid you not one of the greatest thrash tones I ever got was a SM9 into a black face bassman on 4 and a marshall 4x12 with g12t75s
