what pedal to get next?

Re: what pedal to get next?

the whammy is more expensive than the DD-3, at least it is in the UK..

and i think most guys will agree with me when i say boss' single effect pedals are indestructible - i've bought 3 broken ones off ebay and only one actually had something wrong with it (which i fixed the morning i got it..) such well designed and built units, thats why there's such a strong trade in used ones :)

Re: what pedal to get next?

there is nothing wrong with digital pedals...listen to how they sound first- it is all about the sound. there are many analog pedals that are horrible, as well as cheap digital pedals.
analog delays rarely go ovcer 500ms...for long ones (10 secs, or more) you need digital. I bet I ould put some delay on a recording and no one would be able to tell what technologyu was used to create it. Blanket statements are never a good thing- in guitar , as well as other things.

Re: what pedal to get next?

Just thought I add my two cents. Delay is definately one of the effects that they've managed to crack digitally IMO. Plus, with digital you get much more potential for what you can do with the effect. Ironically, the reason people like analog delay is that it's not very good if you think about it. The deterioration, especially in the hf. A lot of digital pedals try to model this and I've heard many of them doing it convincingly. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the DD-3. My advice is to really do your research, decide what you want and then buy it from Ebay. I live in England and I own loads of pedals that I'd never have beeen able to afford if I was paying the prices they charge here in the U.K.

Re: what pedal to get next?

I for one love my Ibanez DE7 Delay/Echo. A bit hazier than the Boss delays, and a bit more musical IMO. The Line 6 DL4 is also really nice, but very expensive.

Any good digital delays besides the DD3/DD6 ?
im going go test out some pedals later on.

Line6 DL4...got to the line6 site, download the manual. your search is then over.

Re: what pedal to get next?

I have narrowed down to Reverb and Delay...
which has more use?
the DD3 or the EH holy grail ? :smack:

Re: what pedal to get next?

i own both the pedals you decided on and b/t the two, the EH holy grail is on all the time when i play and the dd-3 goes on now and again. also the EH has a setting called "flarb" which is fun to play with it's a reverb/flanger mix. i'd go with the EH first then the delay.

Re: what pedal to get next?

yeah i tried out the "flarb", it was kinda funny when i first heard it .
im just a little afraid the grail is gonna sound so much like my chorus though
