What picks/stings are everybody using?

Re: What picks/stings are everybody using?

I had no idea what you were talking about here, so I looked them up. Pretty cool idea, even though it’s not exactly new. The article I read said that Fender came out with them in 1974... so I can’t believe I’d never noticed that there was something different about the design.

Have you found that they actually do improve sustain and tuning stability?

I never claimed anything about sustain improvements from bullet ends. That makes no sense, and would be a ridiculous claim.

Bullets are really easy to install (bullet end is less bulky than a ball end), more durable on the ends (string doesn't wrap around a ball, with a thin-little wire, then back around itself), and they seat much more solidly, which is especially helpful on Strats and Kahlers. The strings also give more clearance the vibrato fulcrum screws on Jaguars/Jazzmasters, and won't mar a Kahler cam nearly as badly as most strings.

Sorry, didn’t mean to infer that you had made that claim... I took it from Fender themselves, which is why I was asking about your own experience:

I think the bullets are made specifically for strat trems. I don't think they'd have a positive effect on a tele or LP.

Re: What picks/stings are everybody using?

What makes me happy is trying to make music, trying to play appropriately for the song and for the listener.

I don't care what shoes people wear, what brand of piston rings are in their car or what shampoo they use. I don't even care much about peoples' limited vocabularies ... but I do care about what they are saying.

Yeah, this is a gear forum. I don't belong here.

Almost 8300 posts it took to figure that out? LOL
