What pickup combination are you using.

So in March I wanted a new guitar but couldn’t decide what I wanted . I was stuck on a strat, tele ,and lesPaul. So in the confusion I decided to build one . I looked at my favourite things of each.
Strat: that big 70s headstock on a maple neck
LesPaul : the mean old paf pickup.
Tele: the spunk only a vintage tele has in the lead. You know what I’m talking about.
So I done such that I pieced together imho the best guitar I could come up with which was a, 73 inspired tele custom with a strat neck .
My pickups are the Seymour Duncan Seth lover and 54 tele lead. And man I could not imagine what that combination would sound like . It is so mean you can get those warm jazz sounds but also that country twang with a flick of a switch but when the two are paid that’s that’s were the magic happens . I really can’t explain the growl ,bark ,and clarity I can get out of . But here is the tele

O ps I had to combine my two favourite teles into one so it has an ash body like a 52 tele. Man I miss my mij squier 52 reissue at times but still this kicks it’s ass

Sweet!
Don't normally like Tele's. But that pickup combo got me.

I love a Seth Lover in a Tele neck. I like the Jerry Donahue in the bridge. The sound is amazing, and warm, with twang if you want it. Unfortunately, Teles don't always work out ergonomically for me unless there are significant mods done.

I'm using the pickups that came stock in my John 5 Tele. I don't know what they are but the bridge pickup is OK. The neck pu is a little weak.

Hey!

In My strats I have the 3 SC configuration with the All 3 option and the neck pickup add option to any position. As an alternative solution i use a multipole selector to achieve that without extra switches!

In my H H guitars I am a huge fan of the parallel setting on the neck humbucker and of the combination of the full bridge with a neck coil! Superwitch too! Of course my les paul is super classic gibson HB, no frills

Then I also have a HSS guitar and there i just go with a series parallel on the Bridge HB.

Finally my Kotzen tele is amazng the way it is, greatto have series parallel between the hb and the tele neck SC!

That is a sweet looking Tele! I miss my ash Tele. Here's a pic of a pine Tele build I did last year. I went with the Gretsch HS Filtertron in the neck, I love it but have wondered if I would love a Seth in the neck even more. IMG_0268.jpg

Re: What pickup combination are you using.

As far as my Tele' s go, stock pickups in the '72 Deluxe RI (for now) and a SD Custom Shop Tele-Bro-90 in a MIM Silverburst that I converted to an Esquire.
