i would go Virtual PAF if u wanna change pickup or Virtual HOT PAF (for higher outpur) but changing ur speaker would help the tone aswell it all depends if u value ur guitar or amp more

I had the same problem with my Rocktron Replitone 212 (I've tried lots of modeling combos and they all seemed to have that "dark" sound. The only exception being the H&K ZenTera).

I put a BBE Sonic Stomp pedal in the loop & that took care of the problem. Really added a lot of "sparkle" & "life" to the sound. Not bad for 100 bucks.

I'd reccomend you give it a try before changing your pickups.
