My issue is that I have a Fender Showmaster from '03. I love it to death, been my main guitar for quite some time. I'm wanting to toss something in the bridge that has some bite. It's basswood, set neck, rosewood board, strat shape. I think the JB's are cool, but maybe not enough oomf. I don't really play metal, but I'm hoping for something I can get easy pinch harmonics from and has clarity in distortion. Was looking at maybe the Custom 5, or duncan distortion. I really am at a loss for what to use. I have the good ol Jazz for the neck, it's served me well in my les paul, but I think I'm swapping into this one now. Even considering trying the (shhh, PRS Tremonti treble). But I'd love to stay SD, so what's comparable to the tremonti from SD?

At least maybe a nice meaty palm muted crunch when needed? Like I said I don't play metal for real. Just for fun. For real I stick to the STP, Pearl Jam, Lenny Kravitz vibe that can get as heavy as Alter Bridge type stuff. If you were to mix all that in one pot (..help us all) Would the demon suit it all pretty well? I mean, I'm gonna set up a PRS SE Tremonti with all the Tremonti goodies, so I don't "need" that sound per se, but it is something I like a lot.
