what pickups in Fender Robben Ford model?

Just saw a DVD of his and he was getting some awesome spanky tone
out of a one of these guitars. Fender doesn't seem to make it any more,
its a two humbucker, arched solid body, neck-through, rosewood
fingerboard, a lot more like an LP than anything Fender usually makes?
Anything unusual in the pups? Was it a 25.5 scale? Or is it just Robbens
great string snapping touch that does it?

Fender Ultra, is now produced as a cheaper one from Korea, should still be pretty good though.
It is abit like a 335 style guitar.

I think he usually had his Fender Signature models (Elites/Ultras) loaded with Seymour Duncan 59 nickelcovered sets.

i'm not 100% sure either but i think he was using JB/59 in his signature fender model.......

The sig was loaded with dual 59's or 59/JB, but HE was using Gibson 57 Classics, according to Guitar Player magazine.

So for everyone who thinks the 59N is too boomy.......be sure to inform Robben Ford, so he doesn't continue to make that tonal mistake! hahahaha

He doesn't. The 57 Classics are alnico II.
