what pickups should i get?

I'm having a little problem with the pickups on my Ibanez GRX20, cheap guitar so chep pickups obviously. I find the neck pickup to be too muddy and the bridge pickup too thin. I'm looking for a nice set of humbuckers for hard rock type music. I really like finger eleven. I'm not into the crazy fuzzy gain, but the pickups should be able to handle handle high gain allright and low gain stuff pretty good too. If its possible, decent clean would be nice too but not as nessesary. WHat kind of pickups do you guys suggest? I'm thinking a JB in the bridge and a '59 in the neck or something dimarzio.

Thanks for the help.

Re: what pickups should i get?

well, i have the GRX 20 as well, i found its tone very weak and as u said, the neck's too muddy while the bridge is too thin.
my solution was that i thru in a DImarzio Super Distortion at the bridge (i didnt really bother about clean tones) and a duncan jazz at the neck position.

the JB might be a little too bright for the grx but u can always use 250k pots for that problem. as for the 59 i never tried it and i dont use the 59 much so i wouldnt know too much about it in the neck of a grx.

a few good choices if cleans arent really an issue are

DD/screamin demon
Air Zone/Fred
PATB-3/paf pro

Re: what pickups should i get?

Here is your fix for a thin bridge pickup and a muddy neck pickup. I would go with the duncan custom custom in the bridge and the duncan jazz in the neck. It will do hard rock, rock, blues, clean tone, etc to a T. I absolutly love mine!!!!!

Hey, thanks guys. I'll look into those ideas alittle further. More ideas would be helpfull too if someone wants to pitch another one.

Re: what pickups should i get?

i think a jazz neck is a great choice, nice clean or dirty tones. the 59 is cool as well but has a bigger bottom so the jazz might be a better choice if you want a tighter sound
for the bridge there are a couple good choices. i think the jb and cc are both good but they sound different. have you checked out the sound samples??

Re: what pickups should i get?

I listened to the sound samples, but they all sound so good. I'm thinking of going with the cc and the jazz. versatility would be great for me.
