What playing technique are you working on?

Re: What playing technique are you working on?

There's nothing quite like being belittled by a twenty something who starts his bedroom guitar lesson with "hey kids..."
:lmao:

If a YouTube tutorial on guitar or photography/photoshop (or heaven forbid, a gear demo) opens with someone that either looks or sounds like Bieber, I immediately close it. If the "instructor" is mumbling/rambling I also close it immediately.

Percussive tapping on the acoustic. Been doing it for years but really trying to get an Andy McKee vibe going on lately.

Re: What playing technique are you working on?

Not your typical "guitar world technique" but I've been trying to develop my ability to expand outside of the traditional diatonic harmony via extended dominant series. I'll give you an example.

Let's say your target chord is a plain of C major triad: C, E, G.
Up a perfect 5th gives you a G major triad GBD, up another P5th is DF#A, up another P5 is AC#E.
So...descending you might try C#, B, A, F#, E, D, B, A, G, and finally bringing it back home by stepping down from E, to D, to C (or E, C, skpping re) all on the same C major triad.

But dang if that C# doesn't want to go D, G, C! XD
