Wondering what pots you have used in your single coil sized humbuckers? How did it fit and which PU are you talking about?

I use 250K pots on my EBMM, It definately helps to curb the highs on the fulll-sized JB a bit (really makes it sing), and I dig the way the cool rails and the duckbucker sound. The hot rails neck was a bit too muddy. Thats all the experience I got.

I had a Lil '59 in the bridge position of my Strat for a while and it sounded excellent with the stock 250K pots. Plenty bright enough. I believe the lil buckers are optimised to work with 250K pots as that is what is standard in Strats.
Great pickup. I only took it out when I acquired a second LP and didn't need to rely on the Strat as a gigging backup for #1 LP any more.

I have a JB JR in my Strat. The Jb goes through a 250k pot for the Spin a Split mod. The remaining two posts are a master volume and a master tone. The tone is 250k, the volume is 500k. Anyone know what the likely difference would be if I changed the master tone to a 500k, or the volume to a 250k?

i didn't change anything else on my strat...so it's 250k for my JB Jr.

I always use 250k pots in all of my strats and that's what I used with a JB Juinor a few years back..

Both my Strat with the JB, Hot Stack and lil59 and my RG 550 with JB, JB jr and 59n have 500k pots in them. The 500k pots do brighten up the single sized HBs a bit but thats ok, it adds clarity and percussiveness to the SSHBs without making them sound brittle or harsh.
I have installed SSHBs and stacked HB singles into 250k pot loaded guitars and that worked out well too but for my guitars I like the 500k pots better.

Bridge Hot Rails in a MIM Strat, with 250K's. It's dark for good sounding cleans, but it sounds good under distortion for punk and metal rhythm.
Trying 500K's probably isn't a bad idea, however.
