What pots to use for a blackout?

I have a schecter blackjack atx c-1 and it sounds horrible. There is a 250k pot for the first volume knob and i was told that could potentially be the problem. I am not too tech savvy so any help would be appreciated. I mostly want to know how i make this active pickup sound heavy because right now my stock humbucker in my bc rich sounds 4 times as heavy.

You need to use 25K pots with active pickups.

Do yourself a favor...go on ebay and get yourself a quick connect kit. Pots are quick connect...output jack is quick connect. I also ordered a quick connect 3-way switch. Made the whole operation plu and play.
