I have a Bareknuckle Black Dog and Bareknuckle Riff Raff (bridge/Neck) in my Gordon Smith Graduate 60 (LP Clone).
The pickups sound better than any Duncan's I've had in that guitar before (Screamin Demon and Custom 5 in the bridge and PGn) but still don't 'do it for me' as much as the Seths I have in my Gibson LP.
I'm putting that down to the guitar though, more than the pickups. The GSG, while it is a good guitar, I still wouldn't put it up there with my Gibson as far as Tone and playability

I use an OBL in the neck of my Gibson and love it! it's like 7- 7.5K so it's pafish but it has a Ceramic magnet and to thin blades insted of poles and lugs. It's a great pickup.
I had a Dimarzio Super Distortion and X2N but sold the guitar that i had them in. I liked both of them a lot and look forward to getting a nother Super Distortion. I also have a Humbucker from Hell laying around, waitng to be used again.
I have a Gibson 500T that I use in my Strat. I took out the lug pieces and replaced them with 6 more poles so now the guitar has 12 pole pieces and sounds way better IMO.
I also LOVE Fender pickups. The stock pickups in the MIM tele I just got suck though. I'm waiting for a Fender USA tele pup to arrive.

The EMGs sound like EMGs.
The Super Distortion is an awesome bridge humbucker. It's a little bit retro-ish in it's sound (think 80s metal), but I love it.....despite not actually likeing 80s metal tone.

i have a tom anderson H3 in the bridge position of my ltd viper, and it kicks ass! so far the only non-SD aftermarket pickup that ive tried. its got a pretty unique sound. really fat and has a really nice low end, its great for southern metal kinda stuff (down, COC, etc.). hell, its what pepper keenan and kirk windstein use

I've played: Gibson; Fender; Duncan; DiMarzio; and EMG.
I stick with Duncan because they seem to offer a wider variety of pickups and a lot of different models that actually sound different. I've never liked Gibson pickups--but that's a whole different thread. EMG's sounded too tiny and compressed for me; every time I play them, I feel like I'm playing out of an AM radio. DiMarzio's had too much of that open wha sound with all their pickups. I think fender make great vintage strat and tele pickups.
I think i'll stick with Duncan for the long run. It's been about 3 years since I've played my first duncan and I've never looked back.

Well, I wouldn't rip an original '59 Gibson PAF out of my guitar if it was in there...
Anyhow, now I use Gibson Shaw PAFs from '82/83 in one Tokai Love Rock and a Gibson P-94 (neck) and DiMarzio PAF (bridge) in the other. A spare set of Tokai PAFs will go into the ES copy when I find the time to reassemble it. And all sound great of course...

Lindy Fralin Blues Specials in my Tele. These pickups have an incredable presence throughout the entire frequency spectrum. They just sound alive.
I just re-installed a set of Dimarzio Virtual PAF's in my Les Paul Studio. I originally tried them with my Classic 30 amp but something just did'nt click. Hard to describe so I put the stock pickups back in. Then I bought a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue a few weeks back and the stock pickups were a bit much for the Fender. No presence and too much in the mids. Thought I'd try the Dimarzio's again since they are a much lower output and I can't believe how good they sound thru the Fender.

I like the DiMarzio FS-1 (DP110) in the bridge position of my Strat. It's a beefed up single coil, boosts the output, fattens the tone and takes away the extreme shrillness, but still retains the single-coil vibe. I recently also put a DiMarzio Blue Velvet (DP170) in the neck position. It has a full round tone but really bites when you play hard. I'm looking for another Blue Velvet to put in the middle.

i have set of 500-XLs in my semihollow (ibanez am-50) ... mid 80's vintage bill lawrence (the real bill lawrence) ... these pickups are really incredible for clarity and fidelity ... on "8", they are just really wonderful .. and when you need a touch more kick, rolling it up to "10" just puts them over the top
funny though, i go back and forth with the idea of selling them and putting a set of Seth's or Ant's into it ... they were perfect for my needs when it was the only guitar i owned (versatile!) ... but now that i have more axes, i think i want this one to 'fill a niche' ...
they would KILL in someone's metal massacre guitar ...
but i am an SD guy now ... if i make a change in the PRS, the stock mccartty's will be swapped for some seth's or ant's ... i wanna sound like Scott's R8 through GJ's bogner

About the only pups I've ever used other than SDs were the stock Epiphone pups in my first electric. They SUCKED. The more I played them, the more I realized how bad they sounded, and the more I hated them. I finally stuck a JB Jr. in the bridge. It still needed new pots and caps, but the guitar's tone was improved dramatically.
My Jackson came with SDs and I immediately swapped the pups out of my Peavey for SDs (I'm a humbucker kind of guy). I actually ended up putting the old peavey pups in the Epiphone that my brother now uses. I haven't had a chance to play it much and decide if they were any good. I've heard that they made some decent pups, though.

I typicaly use Duncans, But I have 2 guitars with DiMarzio's (HS-3, PAF Pro, Norton).
My Charvel has a single coil that is not routed for the "tab". So I picked up the HS-3 cheap and used a box knife to remove the tab so it would fit.
