What Pups for a mahogany body/strat neck guitar?

I am considering building a hybrid guitar (of some sort).
It will be shaped like the Ovation Breadwinner and the body will be made of mahogany (I might consider a maple cap).
The neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard and is a bolt on neck.
It will be 25.5" scale and will have a Tune-O-Matic bridge.

I am undecided on what pickups to chose for it:
I was considering either a vintage mini humbucker for the neck and a custom mini humbucker for the bridge.
Or an Alnico II pro for the neck and a Custom (or Custom Custom or Custom 5) for the bridge.

The sort of sound I'm looking for is from 60s 'British Invasion' to 70s rock/hard rock to 80s hard rock/metal (and possibly even grunge and modern rock).

Thanks.

Im sorry to say I don't have enough experience with mini humbuckers, but all I can say is if you have a mohogany body, you may want to stay away from the 59 from Duncan. They sound to muudy in my opinion. Maybe like a jazz or pearly gates. What if you do a humbucker in the neck with a tele pickup in the bridge?

i have a hamer super strat with a mahogany body. i use a custom shop c5 in the bridge and two rails pups in the neck and middle.

i think a jazz in the neck with a c5 in the bridge would be cool, as would the vintage/custom mini bucker setup but that setup wont be as good for the metal
