Aside from the 59s as mentioned above, Bare Knuckle Pickups do a pickup called a 'Black Dog', which is a Vintage PAF style pickup with a great mid range snarl to it. The name obviously implies it's wound with the intent of giving a Jimmy Page/Led Zeppelin vibe
I have 1 in a Gordon Smith les Paul and it's a great pickup

I think a Tele with nice vintage style pickups (Broadcaster, '54, Antiquity, etc.) through a Boss DS-1 and plugged into a nice tube amp with strong mids gets a tone very close to Jimmy's tone on the first Led Zep album.
My '54 Tele has Fralin alnico 5 Blues Specials and when I plug it into my DS-1 and that into my tweed Fender amps I feel like I can pretty much nail those tones on the first album. The BS is similar to what might've been in an early 50's Tele...maybe a little hotter and smoother, but not much.
The Duncan '54 Tele set would be closest to what was in Jimmy's Tele when he recorded that album.
If it's humbuckers you want then the guy's recomendations of the '59 is a "sound" recomendation... :smack: ...I like the 59B alot!
But I think of a Tele through a cranked vintage tube amp when I think of Led Zep.

My two main player LP's have C-5/59 (basically, a hotrodded 59 set), and the other has Seth Lovers. I like both equally, although the C-5/59 set has more oomph, and the Seth set is more classic and sweet. One set sounds more like 'No More Tears - Ozzy' and the the Seths are more like Zeppelin/Allmans/LP Blues.

What amp are you plugged into? It's gonna be hard to get Jimmy's sweet OD with a 15-watt solid state...
But yeah, for your situation i'd say some PAFs (Seths, 59s, or something like that) and a tube amp should get you there...i can get pretty close to his lead sounds and stuff with my 59neck and i'm not even trying so...

+1 A Strat???? I've never heard of Page playing a Fender of any kind.
Gibson makes a Burstbucker that supposedly designed to hit that Page sound, although I'm not sure how they do that since his tone seems to change with each album. I go with pretty much everyone else here. Go with a PAF style HB and run it through a tube.

its true evryone begins with a strat haha keep in mine page sued a tele caster on the earlier stuff, which was a SINGLE COIL

Yeah.. All of Led Zeppelin I was recorded with a Telecaster. Part of II was recorded with it, and then random tracks from other albums including the Stairway solo. He used a Strat on Presence and In Through The Out Door.
And as for Burstbuckers sounding like Jimmy Page? I'd say yes if you have a very mid driven type amp like a Marshall. If you don't, then these pickups sound weak and brittle. I'd rather have any low output SD bucker for Zeppelin stuff!

Page used a Strat live on the HTWWW DVD for In the Evening. I'd imagine it was on the studio version as well. LZ I was recorded mostly with a Tele and Page used that guitar many times live during that period. I've seen pics of Page in the studio using a Strat, so I think maybe a little research should be done before claiming someone never used a particular brand or guitar.

I'd say go with a 59 set for PAge sound on a budget. But, order at least one of them with 4-conductor wiring and put in a phase switch to get the 2-pickup-out-of-phase combination. Or, just wire them permanently out-of-phase. I've been listening to How the West Was Won quite a bit lately, and Pagey used that out-ot-phase combo a lot. Gives him a lo-fi snarky sound out of his normally fat-sounding Les Paul.
If you're feeling more adventurous, go with the full-blown Page wiring.
