what SD did Stryper use?

anyone know what Duncan humbucker Sweet & Fox were using during the "Soldiers Under Command" period?

I'm guessing Distortion...but JB perhaps?

Re: what SD did Stryper use?

Id always heard JB.

I sure would love to have the tab for The Way!! (shameless begging)

Re: what SD did Stryper use?

I dont know for a fact but I'm sure both JB and DD could nail it..depending on your other gear I suppose.

I tend to think DD but I'm no expert at hearing that distinctly

Re: what SD did Stryper use?

The Custom was also a popular pickup back then in the early 80's .

Some of their chunky sounding riffs could have been the voice of the Seymour Duncan Custom.

Re: what SD did Stryper use?

I'm not much for Stryper, but I have a memory for gear like an elephant! LOL

Distortion into a Mesa Quad preamp and Strategy 400 power amp.

yellow-and-black spandex encased holy rollers who look prettier than my ex-wife ain't high on my list either........but I do love the tone on that album :laugh2:

hahahh

Funny stuff here

Even though I like them and I'd agree with many of the lyrics, it is undeniable that Stryper initiated hair-metal into a new DIMENSION of cheese.

Re: what SD did Stryper use?

I saw Stryper in concert with White Lion back in the late 80's. Whichever pickup they were using, it should be taken out of production! Absolutely the worst tone I have ever witnessed. Including Nigel Tuffnel.

Re: what SD did Stryper use?

Ok.....I take it back. Nigel kicks @ss, and I would like to have his guitar collection. I probably wouldn't let anyone touch my vintage Fender either. :laugh2:

Re: what SD did Stryper use?

I've got one better than that. How about Beastie Boys, and Winger, and Cinderella all in one show. Thats an entire cheese wheel with cheese whiz on top!!

Re: what SD did Stryper use?

Takanori Makes Revolution. Dude didn't even sing in English! Well, that's J-pop for ya. And they were playing anime in the background behind him. Good concert though.
