If you're after a guitar-looking and -playing one, look into the Jerry Jones line of sitars. The Master Sitar usually goes for around $700, but their Baby Sitar goes for around $600. Check out the site: http://www.jerryjonesguitars.com/index.htm The prices there are just list prices. The only online store I've found that sells them is Junior's Music. http://www.juniorsmusic.com/JerryJonesPages/NewJerryJonesStart.htm Under the In Stock box are the links for each sitar.

I quite like the sitar patches on my Roland GR-30, plus you get all the other synth sounds, and the cost is comparable!
