I am sticking with the SCN pickups in my American Deluxe V-neck Strat -- they are warm and clear, and the S1 switching is very useful.
Good choice. Those SCN pickups were designed by Bill Lawrence. I love their tone.

Re: What stock pickup did you find that sounded good?

My JV strat has very good stock pickups, especially the bridge pickup. It is sweet. But, I'm sure that an SD Texas Hot Custom Bridge would great.

I did change out the neck for a Texas Hot. I didn't have to change it, but I wanted to experiment. I like it.

I also think that the stock Tex-Mex pups on the Jimmie Vaughan Strat are great. I definitely won't change them out.

Re: What stock pickup did you find that sounded good?

The stock tele pickups that came in my MiM were awesome for a traditional tele tone, I'd go back to em in a heartbeat if I wanted that sound. But that's not the tone I wanted....

Re: What stock pickup did you find that sounded good?

My favorite stock pickups are my Gibson p90s that are in my RI 0 LP Special DC. I love them so much that I don't really have any inclination to change them out or mess with it. If it sounds great stock, why look elsewhere?

The stock pickups in a friend's 57 RI MIJ Strat are pretty happening too. I wonder what the specs are on those?

My set of P-90's in my PRS SE soapbar are wonderful!!!! I got a set of Duncan vintage P-90's when I got the guitar and tried them but, the Original PRS P-90's went back in there in a hurry! I liked them that much!!!!

Re: What stock pickup did you find that sounded good?

I had a couple of guitars I never thought about changing the pups in.
1. Jackson Rhoads V with stock Duncan Designed's
2. Music Man Axis with DiMarzio's

Everything else has gotten swapped!

Rock on!!!

Have you not ever bought a guitar that came stock with a JB? You didn't mention it. Maybe you forgot it.
