11-50 usually, except my strat, which is 12-52 in an open D or D6 tuning.

Standard 10s. I was using 11s for years, but a combination of style change, and playing a bit less lead me back to 10s.

I see a few people use 10 - 50s, or 52s? What do you like about the thicker lower strings?

I use them on my "metal" guitars, I like the crisper bass response and how they hold a note in tune when I really hit it, as opposed to a lighter string which will go sharp, then come back to pitch.

Standard 10-46 or 11-48 for more "Standard" guitars, the Strat and Tele.

Hybrid Slinkys 9-46 with an 8 on the high E.

Fender scales are standard tuned and strung with DR Pure Blues 10-46.
Gibson scales are Eb (occasionally with a dropped Db) and strung with DR Tite Fit 11-50.

That makes sense. But then, I don't pound my guitar when I play chords.

Squier Strat and Fender Tele are 10-46 and my Gretsch is currently 10-46, but in a day or so I'll be changing them to 11-48.

D'Addarios XL 10-52 in all electrics, D'Addarios EXP15 Extra Light 10-47 in my Takamine acoustic, Hannabach extra high tension in my classic guitar.

I like Ernie Ball strings. Stretch 'em properly when you put them on the guitar and tuning will be very stable over the rest of the life of the strings. On my Floyd equipped axe, the strings will become tarnished and rusted up and down their entire length and sound utterly lifeless and dead before they go out of tune more than the 3 to 5 cents that comes with temperature and humidity changes.

All sets are for 25.5" scale

I like the slightly thicker B and low E strings. gives me a perfect rise in tension from lowest to highest string.

I use the fat 56 for the low C because otherwise it feels too loose and floppy in relation to the rest of the strings. This set gives me about the same individual and overall string tension as the set of 9s above, so feel doesn't change drastically with the lowered pitch.

Kramer Focus: 11-50 (BF#BEG#C#)
Epi Les Paul: 11-48 (CGCFAD)
Peavey strat: 9-46 (Eb)
Fender HM Strat: 9-42 (drop D)

I used to like tuning down with really thick strings, but lately I've been taking the Ty Tabor approach, using light strings and adjusting my attack. It's not that tough to get used to, and there are no tendonitis issues this way.

On the #2 (B/A) string maybe, there's one pound difference between the two sets. There's only a 0.2 pound difference between the sets on the #1 string (E/D), and the #3 string (G/F) has the same tension between sets. If you can tell 0.2 pounds or 0 pounds difference, then more power to you and your awesome fingers.

9-46 in my Ibanez with low action. Plays like butter.
10-46 in my Squier with mid-high action. The higher action makes it sing!

as for me, as usual loads of gauges all D'Addario brand.

9 - 46 on some guitars in E
10 - 46 on others in E
10.5 - 48 in Eb
11 - 49 in E and drop D on my les pauls
11 - 52 a full step down in D

it all depends on the guitar and what i need it to do.

Right now I have 11-52 (Gibson Vintage Re-issue) on both the LP and ASAT, and my MIM Tele got a set of EB Beefy Slinkys that go from 11-54 with a 22 (!!) plain G. All three are in Eb.

That 22 G makes you really work for those bends and vibrato.

Lately, 9-42 with a 64 on the low B string.
First time I've tried a 64 and honestly, it's a tad too heavy, it doesn't feel right when making the transition from the 64 gauge to the 42 gauge of the E string, so I'm going to try a 60 gauge low B next.

A 60 or a 59 for the low B should probably feel better, especially if you up the size of the low E to 44. A 44 low E should give a better transition of tension between a 32 A and a 60 or 59 low B than the 42 does.
