Re: What The Hell Does A Resonance knob do?
I've got the same amp, and Resonance really brings out the "lows", kind of like a "tight" vs "loose" switch, the more you crank the resonance control, the looser the bass response is, if you roll it back, it tightens the bass up. In the bedroom I have it dimed, but at practice I usually roll it back to 3-5 to tighten things up. The T. Dynamics control is like a "fake tube power" control. I find that the further I turn the T. Dynamics control, the more the amp "breathes" and opens up. It's much more noticable when you crank the amp. At band practice, if I put the volume up to say 8, and the T. Dynamics at 10%, it won't cut through the mix, but dime it to 100%, and you'll notice it. Think of it like power output, your using somewhere between 10% and 100% of the amp's power. Supposedly if you take it to 10% it's supposed to have that "tube-like breakup", but that just doesn't happen with transistors.
