Re: what the hell is a fender showmaster?

If anyone comes across a Highway One Showmaster (made in '03), please let me know.

Re: what the hell is a fender showmaster?

raven, if you ever get to try a CS showmaster, there's a reason theyre rare, other than being CS. They have the smoothest set-neck out there, it feels about 1 stop short of a soloist, and it feels like everything is one piece (a good thing). PRoblem is, not many on the market.

As for helping get the picture up, no problem. :-) That's what we're here for.

Re: what the hell is a fender showmaster?

the neck profile on my show master is the modern c...best ,fastest, smoothest, most comfortable neck ive ever played..period

Re: what the hell is a fender showmaster?

This thread looks like it died - newbie here. Wondering about the photo on this thread of an O3 Highway 1 USA Showmaster. I have an 03 USA H1 Showmaster bolt on and it along with all fender's specs pages for it, has a "not typical" showmaster knob/switch layout. My assumption was this was due to the Floyd Rose. I have other Showmasters with the typical knob switch layout (like that large thread pic).I'll try to upload a photo of the actual 03 USA. I think that photo is of an 06-08 which I think were MIM but discontinued now. In fact - the Showmaster name is not active in 09 or currently expected for 2010. Does anyone know the "inside" reason for the different knob/switch layout?

Re: what the hell is a fender showmaster?

Acording to Fender this is the 03 Fender USA Highway 1 Showmaster RW Floyd Rose

Note the non showmaster knob/switch layout. Anyone have knowledge about why? Thanks in advance!

^Welcome to the party!

I didn't know Fender actually went that far. Looks like a classy shred guitar. And the 24th inlay is pretty nice as well.

Re: what the hell is a fender showmaster?

The showmasters I´ve come across so far were solid to good guitars.

... They have the smoothest set-neck out there, it feels about 1 stop short of a soloist ....

^^ THIS is one of the main reasons I don´t own one.... But then again, every time Fender did something to try and go after J/C, they fell short of the mark, so maybe I´m just a J/C freak :D

Re: what the hell is a fender showmaster?

I remember a while back GC had their remaining stock of these Showmasters marked way down, just to get rid of them- I don't remember the price, but it was low enought to make me pick it up to try it (I usually don't care for/ get on with Strats)$400 -5oo. I think they had been quite expensive maybe around 1200.
The one I played was extremely heavy, yet had no sustain, sounded " hard", for lack of better discription.
I think it had either the PG or JB in the bridge, and sounded like poo. But it was very nice to look at.
It just didn't feel good to me- they finally got rid of all of them, but it took some time.

Re: what the hell is a fender showmaster?

I just bought one (MIK) in like new condition for a really good price. Pristine except for the fact that the current owner either lost or did not get the tremolo arm
with the guitar. it is one with screw-in threads and in the gun metal finish. Any ideas on replacements that might fit or where to get NOS you guys?
