What the SSL-3 hot sounds like

I just installed one of these pups in the bridge position of my Fender Classic 60's Strat and put it infront of my Marshall TSL head with the gain on 10.

Surprisingly bassy. I have this pickup and it doesnt sound so thumpy. Goes to show how gear affetcs our tone.

the SSL-3 is one of my favorites, although I don't usually play with the gain on "10"

Yup. Love it too. I'll have to agree with curly though. Its got enough of a mid push not to need that much gain.

I LOVE MY SSL-3s!!!!!!!!!!! I have them on both my strats in the bridge positions - big balls! The ONLY drawback is the occasional hum/noise when I get close to a lighting rig - and that has actually tainted the mood a couple of times...
