what to do with 496r and 500t

what should i do with my 496r and 500t. should i change magnets? what do you guys think of these pickups and what should i do with them. i just got a set of a2p's for my les paul classic. do you think the gibson pickups are why my marshall amp didnt have a great classic tone.

You could either: 1. Throw them in the trash and forget all about them 2. Send 'em to me to confirm their crapiness

On a more serious note, I think the a2p's will give you a much better "classic" tone for sure, and if you like them, just sell the gibby pups on ebay or on the local market. The a2p's will have lower output, and I'm guessing more "warmth" and definitely a more classic rock tone. For rock, they should be much better according to my research. If you're still unsatisfied after the pickup swap, try retubing your amp or just crank it up real' good

Do like me....throw them in a drawer and forget about them. You could also send them to the Custom Shop and get them rewound to your specifications for about $75 each.

I just stuck a 500T/496R set in, and I'm actually really digging them. The 496R clean tone is badass.

I know KorinaStratKyle Made a JB/500T Hybrid that he claims sounded killer.

I had the set that JB from hell now has and I must say, they sounded alot better than I expected they would. I thought they were good pickups.

I liked my 500T, I think it sounded way HOT. I still have it just in case.
